What's Your Priority?
As we celebrate this wonderful season of Christmas our thoughts readily turn to the gift of Christ and what His coming means to us.  It's easy because we are surrounded by nativity scenes, bright, twinkling lights, Christmas trees adorned with beautiful decorations, Christmas carols, gifts and more.  For many it's an easy time to remember our relationship with Christ because our spiritual "sight" is focused.

So, what happens when the decorations come down, the twinkling lights are packed away and gifts find their place on the shelf?  Do we hear comments like:  "I'm having trouble connecting with God in prayer?"  "God seems so far away".  The truth is God didn't "go" anywhere!  He's always close to us.  But, we find that we have allowed the "world" to creep in and deflect our focus away from Christ.

It comes down to priorities.  We will feel closest to what we choose to make a priority.  It's up to us . . . it's always up to us.  As long as we put Christ first in our life, we will feel close to Him.  He loves to hear from us--to talk with us, to lavish His love on us.  His arms are always extended toward us, beckoning us to draw close to Him--to make Him our focus.  He's waiting for you to fellowship with Him.  Your Creator--the Creator of the universe and beyond-- loves you with an everlasting love.  He came into this world to save you!  He came as a gentle shepherd 2000 years ago.  But someday, maybe not too long from now, He will come again as King of Kings and Lord of Lords!  The Bible tells us that every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Christ is Lord!

Why not make Christ the priority this year? Why not make an effort this coming year to make prayer the priority in your life?    The truth is, you are His priority . . .

May the blessings of Christmas be with you all year long!

Maranatha!!!
